  • Bring a copy of a written lesson plan that you typically teach. This can be in any format you use to write lesson plans.
  • Complete Needs Assessment from Survey Monkey. The link for this has been emailed to you.
  • Bring copy of all papers received on the Aug. 15. We will provide a binder for you to keep all of your documents.

Due Sept. 23

  • Read Chapter 1 of Integrating Inquiry
  • Read articles posted by facilitators on wiki under "Resources"
  • Post an article about Inquiry Based Learning to wiki on the "Resources" page
  • Blog once per week
  • Respond to two blogs
  • In your classroom, note what elements of inquiry you are already using and begin to think about how you could add more in

Due October 21

  • Read a chapter in Integrating Inquiry that addresses the content area you teach. Post a reflection on this reading on your blog.
  • Complete the IBL self-assessment handed out at our meeting and read the narrative descriptions included. Post a reflection of your results to your blog.
  • Research to find another reading on one of the following topics:
    • Inquiry-Based Learning
    • Asking good questions
    • Action Research
  • Post the reading to the Resource page and post a synthesis and/or reflection of the reading to the discussion tab on the resource page.
  • Read and respond to at least one posting on the Resource page discussion tab.
  • Post at least one other blog.
  • Respond to either one other person's blog entry and/or respond to a discussion question/comment posted on the "Our Community" page under the discussion tab.
  • Work on your action research in your classroom. Attempt to collect some data this month if possible. Post your progress to the Action Research page.

Due November 18

  • · Read assessment chapter in Integrating Inquiry. Respond to the discussion question on the “Our Community” page of the wiki that addresses assessment. This is found under the discussion tab of the "Our Community" page.
  • · Work on collecting and organizing data from your action research. Be prepared to present in November about what you are learning.
  • · Read an article that you have not yet read from our resource page and/or a book and reflect on it in your blog or on the resource page of the wiki on the discussion tab.
  • · Post 2 additional blogs.
  • · Respond to at least two postings (either blogs or on the wiki discussion).


Due January 10

  • Read your selected book and complete a book synopsis/review. Be prepared to present relevant information from your book to your colleagues.
  • · Work on collecting and organizing data from your action research. We will share updates at our meeting.
  • · Post 2 additional blogs.
  • · Respond to at least two postings (either blogs or on the wiki discussion).

  • Complete your part of your group's role for presenting to the 21st Century Cohort.
  • Continue to work on lesson/unit planning and prepare to video a sample lesson.
